Information collected automatically

When you visit our site we may collect your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, time spent, the site that referred you, and general location based on your IP address. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies described below.

Information from other sources

We may receive information from our online booking platform, our payment processor, and advertising and social media platforms when you interact with our ads or posts.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Book, confirm, reschedule, and follow up on appointments
  • Prepare for your visit safely, including reviewing anything you disclose on an intake form
  • Process payments and maintain business records
  • Answer your questions and provide customer service
  • Send appointment reminders and service-related messages
  • Send marketing emails or texts, where you have opted in
  • Operate, improve, and secure our website
  • Measure how our ads and content perform
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms

4. Health and skin information

Some information you give us describes your health. We treat it as confidential and use it only to determine whether a service is appropriate for you and to perform it safely.

Because we are a cosmetic, non-medical business and do not bill health insurance, we are generally not a "covered entity" under HIPAA. We still limit access to this information to staff who need it, and we do not use it for advertising.

Please do not send detailed medical information through the website contact form or by email, as neither is a secure channel. Bring it to your appointment or use the intake form we provide.

5. Cookies and tracking technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working properly, remember your preferences, understand how the site is used, and measure advertising.

These may include:

  • Essential cookies, required for the site and booking system to function
  • Analytics cookies, which help us understand traffic and site performance
  • Advertising cookies and pixels, which may be placed by advertising and social media platforms to show you relevant ads

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may stop working. You can also opt out of many advertising cookies through the Digital Advertising Alliance at optout.aboutads.info or the Network Advertising Initiative at optout.networkadvertising.org.

Do Not Track and universal opt-out signals. We honor recognized universal opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control, as a request to opt out of targeted advertising.

6. Text messages and email

If you give us your phone number and agree to receive texts, we may send appointment reminders and, where you have opted in, promotional messages. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts, or HELP for assistance. Opting out of marketing texts does not stop appointment reminders unless you ask us to stop those as well.

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any email, or by writing to support@glowbybeautyavenue.com.

7. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information for money.

We share information with:

  • Service providers who work on our behalf, including our booking platform, payment processor, email and text messaging providers, website host, and analytics providers
  • Advertising and social media platforms, through cookies and pixels used to measure and target advertising. Under some state privacy laws this activity may be considered "sharing" or a "sale" of personal information for targeted advertising. You may opt out at any time using the contact details below or a universal opt-out signal.
  • Professional advisors, such as our accountants, attorneys, and insurers
  • Authorities or others, where required by law, to respond to a valid legal request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our clients, staff, or business
  • A successor, if our business is sold, merged, or reorganized

We do not share your skin or health information with advertising platforms.

8. Your privacy rights

Texas residents

Under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, you have the right to:

  • Confirm whether we process your personal data and access it
  • Correct inaccuracies in your personal data
  • Delete personal data you provided or that we obtained about you
  • Obtain a portable copy of your data in a readily usable format
  • Opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, and certain profiling

To exercise these rights, email support@glowbybeautyavenue.com with the subject line "Privacy Request." We will respond within 45 days and may extend that period by another 45 days where reasonably necessary, in which case we will tell you.

We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request. If we decline your request, we will explain why, and you may appeal by replying to our response or emailing us with the subject line "Privacy Appeal." We will respond to an appeal within 60 days. If your appeal is denied, you may submit a complaint to the Texas Attorney General at texasattorneygeneral.gov.

Residents of other states

If you live in a state with a comparable privacy law, such as California, Colorado, or Virginia, you may have similar rights to access, correct, delete, or opt out. Contact us at the address above and we will honor those rights where they apply to you.

Authorized agents

You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. We may ask for proof of the agent's authority and may contact you to confirm.

9. Data retention

We keep client records, including intake forms, consent forms, and treatment notes, for at least seven years after your last visit, and longer where the law requires. Marketing contact information is kept until you opt out. Website analytics data is kept in line with our providers' standard retention periods.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including limited staff access, password-protected systems, and secure storage for paper records. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children's privacy

Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Clients under 18 require a parent or legal guardian's consent for services, and some services are not available to minors. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Links to other sites

Our site may link to other websites, including social media and our booking platform. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and we encourage you to read their policies.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted here with a new effective date. Material changes will be highlighted on our website or sent to you directly where appropriate.
